Now, to our featured article: 

 

“All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name!”

 

John 14:13-14 (KJV) “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

(14) If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

 

John 16:23-24 (KJV) “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you.

(24) Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

 

According to God’s Word, we have every right to ask the Father for ANY NEED we have, in the same way we asked Him for salvation!

 

1^st John 5:14-15 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, he heareth us:

(15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

 

Several things jump off the page as we read these verses, but three (3) are extremely important, that is, if we wish to RECEIVE from God!

           

1. Whatever we ask MUST GLORIFY THE FATHER through the Son!

 

            2. God wants OUR JOY TO BE FULL!

 

3. When we know what we are asking for IS ACCORDING TO THE FATHER’S WILL, then we have His ear, His utmost attention, and our needs ARE MET, just as assuredly as when we asked Him for salvation!

 

As believers, this makes us fools for not knowing His Word, because His Word IS HIS WILL!

 

Mark 11:24 (KJS) “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].”

 

However, our asking MUST BE “In Jesus’ name!” Why?

 

I. BECAUSE THE POWER IS IN THE NAME!

 

Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV) “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:

(10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

(11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

 

A. Every knee shall bow!

 

1. Who is in Heaven? ANGELS!

                        2. Who is in Earth? MANKIND!

3. Who is under the Earth? SATAN AND HIS DEMONS!

 

B. There is power in the name of Jesus because ALL THREE WORLDS must bow to His name!

 

II. LET’S WATCH THE NAME IN ACTION!

 

A. Peter spoke the name.

 

Acts 3:6 (KJV) “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

 

It doesn’t do the sick any good when you go and tell them how wonderful our church is! Why? It’s true!

 

B. Paul spoke the name.

 

Acts 16:18 (KJV) “And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.”

 

I’m telling you this morning that Jesus left us HIS NAME, and if we want victory over Satan and his Imps, WE HAD BETTER USE IT!

 

            C. The Seventy used the name.

 

Luke 10:17 (KJV) “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”

 

Satan and all his hoards ARE COMPELLED to obey our command when given in the mighty name of Jesus!

 

Watch this:

 

Jesus prayed, “Father, I thank thee that thou hearest Me, and I know that thou hearest Me always.” (John 11:41-42)

 

Not one true believer would doubt this statement of Jesus, but we DO DOUBT whether He hears us—OR THAT WE EVEN HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT TO BE HEARD!

 

And yet, every verse we have read this morning was either spoken by Jesus or someone whom He personally chose to say and write THAT WORD!

“Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, THAT will I do—!” (John 14:13)

 

That name WILL NEVER lose its power!

 

IN THAT NAME:

 

1.      Mankind can be saved!

            2. You can receive your needs met!

            3. The lame walk, the deaf hear, the captives are set free!

            4. The sick are healed!

            5. The dead are raised!

 

                        “All hail the power of Jesus’ name,

                        Let Angels prostrate fall,

                        Bring forth the Royal Diadem

                        And crown Him Lord of all.”

 

Our churches have been taught to use everything but the name of Jesus and only Jesus can set us free!

 

HIS NAME MUST:

 

            1. Fill our thoughts!

            2. Fill our prayers!

            3. Fill our preaching!

            4. Fill our living!

 

Colossians 3:17 (KJV) “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

 

Ephesians 5:20 (KJV) “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”

 

Hebrews 13:15 (KJV) “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”

 

Thank God for the lovely name above all names— JESUS!
